Job Title:  Retail Store Manager 
Location:  Bourne End
Contract: Permanent, full-time. Five days per week, including Saturdays, with one weekday off

Do you have a passion for retail and customer service?
We’re looking for an energetic and driven Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our modern store, which specialises in sportswear and school wear. This role involves managing staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead by example to maintain high levels of customer service and satisfaction.
  Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  
• Support the team in delivering exceptional service and upselling where appropriate.
  
• Oversee daily staffing, including training, motivating, and team management.
  Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and ensure the store is well-stocked.
  
• Oversee merchandising and maintain a clean, organised retail environment.
  Meet supplier representatives and place seasonal/forward orders, in-store and at trade shows.
  
• Handle initial enquiries for clubs and companies, directing them as appropriate.
  
• Stay up to date with market trends and monitor local competitors.
  
• Identify opportunities for growth and improvement in the retail offering.

Essential: 

• Previous retail experience 
  
• Excellent communication and organisational skills 
  
• Ability to take initiative, multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  
• Confidence in handling pricing and margins accurately
  
• Knowledge of retail systems including daily cashing up and accuracy of till
  
• Strong attention to detail
  
• Driving licence 
  
• Competent in manual handling, including lifting and moving stock.
  
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and carrying out physical tasks such as restocking shelves.

Desired:

• Shopify experience
  
• Sports industry knowledge and an interest in sports 
  
• Previous buying experience
